July 18, 1963

Established the night school to mentor in-service teachers in continuing education and research.

July 1968

Established the summer school.

September 1, 1971

Held the graduation ceremony for the first batch of summer school graduates.

February 18, 1973

Launched the open summer school officially.

July 1978

Introduced summer school and night school for continuing education of preschool teachers.

July 1979

Introduced two-year preschool teacher training program in summer school and night school.

August 1984

Summer school held the final in-service continuing education program for elementary school teachers

March 23, 1987

Convened the Division of Continuing Education meetings to discuss its establishment regulations.

1988

Established the Division of Continuing Education.

July 1989

Established classes in the Kinmen branch.

August 1996

The Division of Continuing Education was restructured and became the Division of Continuing and Extension Education.

August 2005

The Division of Continuing and Extension Education was transferred to the Office of Academic Affairs, and renamed the Center of Continuing and Extension Education.

February 2007

Established the College of Extension Education, the Continuing and Extension Center, and the Research, Development and Evaluation Center.

November 2008

The Incubation Center was incorporated into the College of Extension Education.

August 2010

The College of Extension Education was renamed the Office of Continuing and Extension Education. The original Incubation Center was transferred to the Office of Research and Development, and renamed the Industry-University Cooperation and Incubation Center. The original Research, Development and Evaluation Center was renamed the "Center of Extension Education," and the original Center of Continuing and Extension Education was renamed the "Center of Continuing Education."
